Dual-SIM HTC E1-Unveiled in China


The HTC 603e, which leaked last month, is now official and it's a mid-range smartphone. Today HTC announced the dual-SIM smartphone in China. it looks like the handset is not just a Chinese version of the HTC M4. It will be known officially as the HTC e1 and anyone who wants to pre-order one can do so starting today.
Pricing is set at 1799 yuan, which equals to about $290 or Rs 15750/- approximately.

The device is packed with quite worthy features and has a design that goes in the same track of other HTC devices but somewhat a different camera.  The phone  is powered by a 1.15GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and comes with a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 display of WVGA resolution(480 by 800 pixels). There's a 5MP main camera f/2.0 aperture and HTC ImageChip and a 2.1MP front snapper, 8GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD slot and 1GB of RAM with BeatsAudio enhancements, and a 2,100mAh battery. The HTC E1 has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board with an update to Android 4.2 later this year. The handset measures 128.5 x 66.9 x 9.8 mm, weighs 130 grams  with HTC's very own Sense custom interface layered on top of it. HTC e1 will come in a variety of pastel colors, including pink, blue, mint, and brown.

In terms of the connectivity features this smartphone is offered with A-GPS, NFC support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB v2.0 (MHL) connector. It is blessed with the Beats Audio technology and comes with a 3.5mm jack. Additionally, this handset is equipped with a 5 megapixel rear-facing primary camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels of resolution and the other camera features like autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, enabled with face and smile detection, facilitated with simultaneous HD video and image recording and the other usual features.


The HTC E1 key selling point it its dual-SIM with dual stand-by support. The primary SIM is capable of tri-band GSM and dual-band HSPA connectivity, while the secondary supports only GSM networks. Naturally, the E1 is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. It is not clear if the E1 or any version of it is going to be released outside China.
